Classically trained composer and bassist Ross Wright is presently in the studio with his cd of modern classical music, entitled Concerti, for Rue de la Harpe.

This canon of his more serious works is a radical shift from his usual irreverent repute, as Ross is also the creator, composer, and conductor of the exquisitely deranged Elvis Schoenberg’s Orchestre Surréal, a wild and eclectic genre-bending 26-piece orchestra, which has created a genuine buzz in the industry for turning music on its ear. The Orchestre Surréal's scripted show Symphony of the Absurd at the John Anson Ford Amphitheatre won "Best Rock Opera" at the 2003 L.A. Music Awards, as well as a “Special Achievement Award in Orchestral Arrangement“ for its creator.

For ten years, the Orchestre Surréal has pilfered and pillaged Los Angeles audiences, through the release of two CDs, Air Surréal, and It's Alive!; a slot on Music Connection's Best Unsigned Acts List, and as L.A. Weekly's "Music Pick of the Week" in 2000.

Their next CD, Manic Voodoo Lady, a tribute to the music of Jimi Hendrix, will be releasing in the summer of 2007, and will be the Orchestre Surréal's first under the helm of Rue de la Harpe Records.

Ross earned his Masters Of Music from California State University Los Angeles, his Bachelors from California State University Northridge, and a diploma from the UCLA Film Scoring Program, Dick Grove School Of Music, and The Musicians Institute.

With a diverse musical background, Ross has worked as composer and/or orchestrator on the studio feature film One False Move, and on the independent films Inner Demon, The Big Announcement, The Revolting DeadTable For Two, Comic Book Villains Nothing But The TruthVictim of DesireFalling Star, A Fate Worse Then Death, The Haven, The Rising Place, Dangerous TouchDeath Wish V: The Face Of Death, White Wolves II: A Cry in the Wild II, and Steven King’s Sometimes They Come Back.

He has also worked on jingles and trailers, including Hell on Heels for Alliance Atlantis, Red Green’s Duct Tape Forever for Hammer Films, Nuremburg for Lionsgate Films, and Harris & Frank

Ross's concert music has been performed throughout the United States and internationally. His commissions include Concerto for Tenor Saxophone and Orchestra and Four Talents: A Concerto for Trombone for the Saint Matthew Chamber Orchestra, Teman’s Salvage Scheme for the Interlochen Youth Symphony, Monte Carlo for the Pasadena City College Vocal Jazz Ensemble and Big Band, Palms 67, 133, 140  for Trombone, Organ, & Baritone Voice for The Parish Of St. Matthew, and Suppressing An Urge for the Hollywood Brass Ensemble.

As a bassist, Ross has performed with a wide variety of acts and genres, from Ray Charles to Middle Eastern Superstar Darioush, and has recorded numerous CDs, including the Orchestre Surréal's It’s Alive and Air Surreal for Allegro Non Troppo Records (writer-arranger-producer-conductor), Anthem: A String Quartet Tribute to Good Charlotte, In the Chamber with Linkin Park, and String Quartet Tribute to Chevelle, all for Vitamin Records (arranger-producer), Resting On The Rock with Angela Carole Brown, Rue de la Harpe Records (producer-engineer-bassist), Female Fishing with Jimmie Lykes and the Club Swingers, for Pascal Records (arranger), Meditation Made Simple with Danielle Jackson for Dance the Spiral Productions (writer-arranger-producer), Mower of the Ogden Edsl, Oglio Records (writer-arranger-bassist), Sway with The Blue Hawaiians, Pascal Records (bassist), Symphonies 3 & 4 with Steven Chesne (bassist), Bandidos De Amor with Yussi & Django (bassist), Iceberg with Ebby, Ofoz Records (bassist), and Hertwork with Peter Dobbson, Riddum Records (bassist).
